Personality Types and Writing a Personal Mission Statement

Course Objectives

Knowing ourselves and understanding others are two keys to developing positive relationships in the workplace, our communities and in our personal lives. The Four Colours personality types gives a framework for understanding ourselves, the way we think, act and react in our daily lives. It also gives us an opportunity to consider how other people operate out of these personality types. Understanding these types can help us to reduce the stress and tension we experience with difficult people, and can create meaning and depth in those relationships that work well. We will also be looking at the concept of writing a Personal Mission Statement as we “begin with the end in mind” in considering our life’s journey. We will discuss and develop the tools necessary to live out the best version of ourselves.

At the end of the training delegates will be able to:

  • Examine “The Four Colours” Personality Types and analyse each one
  • Identify three key people within the workplace, the community or personal relationships and identify their personality type
  • Know how to be mindful of stressful situations with various personality types and how to use that knowledge to diffuse difficult situations
  • Define key components of a Personal Mission Statement
  • Evaluate the concepts of Mission, Vision and Values within companies and organisations to help bring definition and clarity to a personal mission statement
  • Identify four components in PURPOSE within the context of a personal mission statement
  • Create a draft personal mission statement
