Taking Control
Ensure you are in control, and reach your true potential, while preserving a good work/life balance.
Course Objectives
In the fast world in which we all now operate, it is critical that we have the skills to perform to the best of our ability and reach our true potential, while maintaining a healthy work/life balance. The old adage of ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’ is more important today than probably anytime in the past. To ensure that we are performing at our best it is very important to occasionally step back and take stock. This programme gives you an opportunity to do exactly that.
Not having the skills to manage a very busy life can sometimes leave us tired and weary, and sadly sometimes burnt out. Work/Life balance, and maintaining a healthy balance in this area, is everybody’s responsibility. We cannot expect our employer, or other significant people in our lives, to do this for us. They can certainly help, but it has to start with ourselves taking stock.
This programme will provide you with the skills necessary to do just that ,and will help you to take a helicopter view of where you are at right now. Having done this, you can then set goals and put plans in place to improve your situation.
At the end of the training delegates will be able to:
- Recognise what Work/Life Balance looks like
- Identify what stress is and how it effects our health and wellbeing
- Recognise what fight or flight means, and how to manage same
- Identify our stressors and their impact on our lives and performance
- Ascertain how to take control, and strengthen our resistance to stress
- Identify the Wheel of Life: a very valuable tool for identifying what areas of our life we need to work on
